In July 2026, Reverend Andrew Lanning, pastor of Remnant Reformed Church and editor of Reformed Pavilion magazine, began the work of retranslating the Canons of Dordt. Presented here are his explanation of the project, the corrected translation itself, and a series of articles expounding the Canons of Dordt.
It is my hope, together with Reverend Lanning, that these materials will encourage a deeper appreciation for this treasured confession. As he wrote in his introduction to the series, “Beginning this summer, let us study the Canons together, and let us enjoy the gospel of God’s gracious salvation in Christ confessed therein.”

Beginning with the August 1, 2026, issue of Reformed Pavilion, Reverend Lanning announced that he would begin a series of articles on the Canons of Dordt. These articles had their origin in a Canons of Dordt Bible study, led by Reverend Lanning, with saints in the Philippines, Singapore, and the United States, a study that continues to meet today. The articles that follow are drawn from the material presented in that Bible study.
As a participant in this weekly Bible study, which meets every Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. EST, I can personally attest to the value of these studies and look forward to each article as it appears in Reformed Pavilion.
